Substation equipment requires a high-quality electricity supply, and many load tap changing transformers and voltage regulators are used. The oil in the tap changer switch room becomes contaminated with carbon and metal particles generated by arcing during switching, absorbs moisture through breathing, and also produces degradation products such as organic acids. As a result, the insulation resistance decreases, the arc extinguishing effect worsens, and the contact points get damaged, leading to an increase in the generation of carbon and metal particles. Therefore, in the past, operations were stopped once or twice a year for oil filtration or replacement, but now a live-line oil purification machine has been installed to automatically filter the oil in the tap changer switch room for a certain period every day without power interruption. Our company has consistently manufactured live-line oil purification machines since 1958, and in March 2008, we surpassed a cumulative total of 18,000 units.
